Content Management: Basics of CMS

A Content Management System (CMS) allows you to easily add or update content to your website without having to pay your web developer for minor changes.  There are many types of CMS systems available in various programming languages and for different types of websites.  These include but are not limited to WordPress, Opencart, Prestashop, Joomla, Magento, etc.  REP Web Solutions websites are mostly built on WordPress but we have also worked on other PHP based CMS’s like OpenCart, Prestashop and Joomla.

In case you are wondering, content is all the “stuff” that is on your website: text, pictures, charts, graphs, videos, downloadable forms or PDF documents.  The main purpose of most websites is to provide information.  Whether your website is product or serviced based, educational or commercial in nature, content is king.  Not only is it essential for your customers but plays a huge role in search engine optimization.  Constantly updating or adding new content will keep your website fresh, relevant and will rank better with Google.

So in conclusion the ability that a CMS gives you is extremely beneficial because it saves you money, saves you time and puts you in control of your website content.  In addition to providing our customers with CMS we are also available to answer any questions you may have regarding content.
